Progress Report
- Three precast base sections of the tunnel were set in place
- Two precast arch sections of the tunnel were set in place
- Vertical walls are being formed, and reinforcing steel is being installed
- Additional storm drains were installed on the east side
Upcoming Work Planned for Next Few Weeks:
- Vertical walls on the west side that are wing walls to the tunnel will be poured
- Backfilling behind the walls and around the tunnel on the west side will begin for the road crossing to take place
- Preparations are being made for the full road closure, which is TENTATIVELY planned for July 6-16, 2026. Detours will be M-34 west to Industrial Drive to US-223 to Business US-223. Stay tuned for a press release as we get closer.
