Planned Lakewood Blvd Detour

Progress Report:

Preparation of the bore pits continues by Lowe, the subcontractor completing the jack and bore under the box culvert near the pump station. The 42 inch casing will likely be installed this week. Consumers Energy is scheduled to relocate their power poles along Lakewood Blvd this week, in preparation for gravity sanitary sewer installation by K&R.

Phase 1 of the project has begun with the closure of Lakewood Blvd the past Monday (May 4th). Westbound traffic is shifted to one lane, while eastbound traffic is detoured to US-31 & James Street. Milling of the southern three lanes was completed Tuesday. Material & equipment will continue to be delivered this week, in preparation for excavation to begin next week.
