Progress Report
- Tunnel sections were installed across the road – to date, 7 of the 11 sections have been installed
- The west 2 lanes of M-52 (South Main Street) were reconstructed and traffic was reopened with a lane shift of one lane in each direction
- The gas main is being relocated
- The blocks for the west wing walls are being delivered, and construction of those walls has started
Upcoming Work Planned for the Next Few Weeks:
- Fiber optic communication lines will be supported on the east side of M-52 for the tunnel to go beneath them
- West wing walls will be constructed out of modular blocks
- Remaining tunnel sections will be installed, and east walls will be built after utilities are secured and/or relocated.
- Restoration will begin on the west side of the tunnel
