Progress Report
- Reinforced concrete footings for the west wing walls were poured this week, along with the west approach seat walls
- Underdrain and storm drain under the new tunnel were installed on the west side
- Storm drains are being installed on the east side
- Stone base material is being installed for the tunnel footing sections to be installed next week
Upcoming Work Planned for Next Few Weeks:
- Precast tunnel footing sections will be installed
- Vertical sections of the west wing walls will be formed and poured
- The first sections of the precast tunnel will be set
- Backfilling behind the walls and around the tunnel on the west side will begin for the road crossing to take place
- Preparations are being made for the full road closure, which is TENTATIVELY planned for July 6-16, 2026. Detours will be M-34 west to Industrial Drive to US-223 to Business US-223. Stay tuned for a press release as we get closer.
