Progress Report:
The contractor continues to install water main to the north towards Baldwin Street. The contractor has passed Tyler Street and is coordinating their schedule with the water main that will be installed in Tyler Street.
Tyler Street has been closed between 48th Avenue and Tyler Pines Avenue as the site is prepared for water main installation.
Upcoming Work:
The contractor for the water main in 48th Avenue will continue north towards Baldwin Street. The contractor plans to close the intersection of 48th Avenue and Baldwin Street in mid-July to install water main through it before the roundabout construction begins. The contractor will also finish reconstructing 48th Avenue south of Tyler Street in the coming weeks.
The roundabout at the intersection of 48th Avenue and Baldwin Street will begin construction in August following the installation of the water main in that area.
The water main in Tyler Street will begin construction next week. Tree clearing will take place on Monday, and water main will be installed across 48th Avenue on Tuesday.
Extra Notes:
Local traffic needing access to Sutherland Springs Condominiums should do so by turning onto 48th Avenue from Port Sheldon Street if possible. While the contractor will continue to maintain necessary access to 48th Avenue from either direction, dump trucks are anticipated to be lined up north of Tyler Street throughout next week.
We ask the public to respect the workers and the closed road. Police will continue to monitor the site to ensure safe working conditions and to ensure the road is only being used by those who live or work on this road. Local traffic should continue to be especially mindful as there will be multiple crews on site next week.
