Progress Report:
The contractor continued to install transmission main pipe northbound, and they are currently just south of the intersection at Wellington Street and 48th Avenue. While the contractor was installing water main, they also began testing the water main that they had installed so far.
The contractor also continued to install sanitary sewer for the crossing under Rush Creek.
The road remains closed to through traffic and should not be used except for local traffic only. Local traffic should proceed with caution and remain mindful of the workers present.
Upcoming Work:
The contractor will continue installing water main northbound towards Baldwin Street. Testing will continue into next week as well.
The contractor will also continue installing sanitary sewer around Rush Creek next week as well.
Note:
Local traffic needing to access to Sutherland Springs Condominiums should do so through from the south (using Port Sheldon Street) if possible. While the contractor will continue to maintain emergency access to 48th Avenue from either direction, there may be delays for non-emergency traffic as necessary equipment moves around the site.
The intersection of Wellington Street and 48th Avenue for some time on Monday, as the contractor intends to cross the intersection at 48th Avenue and Wellington Street.
It is anticipated that the sanitary sewer crew will maintain single-lane traffic on 48th Avenue at the Rush Creek crossing all throughout the week.
We ask the public to respect the workers and the closed road. Police will continue to monitor the site to ensure safe working conditions and to ensure the road is only being used by those who live or work on this road. Local traffic should continue to be especially mindful as there will be two crews on site next week again.
