Progress Report:

The contractor has kept steady progress as they continued installing pipe for the transmission main, heading north towards Wellington Street.

The road remains closed to through traffic and should not be used except for local traffic only. Local traffic should proceed with caution and be mindful of the workers present.

Upcoming Work:

Starting Tuesday after Memorial Day, the contractor will resume installing transmission main pipe towards a mainline valve a few hundred feet south of Wellington Street. After the valve is installed and connected to the new pipeline, the contractor will begin testing the pipe they’ve installed so far this year. This is expected to occur sometime near the end of next week.

Also starting next Tuesday, the contractor will have another crew on site to resume the sanitary sewer project. They will cross Rush Creek on the west side of 48th Avenue so they can connect the new sewer to an existing manhole just north of Rush Creek. Following the sewer crossing of Rush Creek, the contractor will continue working to rebuild the road from Port Sheldon to just north of Rush Creek. The contractor expects that the sanitary sewer crossing will continue through the week, with the road construction process resuming afterwards.

In addition, the water main project in Tyler St (between 48th Ave and Tyler Pines Ave) will begin near the beginning of June. The contractor for that project will be on site to prepare the site in the coming weeks and will begin water main construction itself near the middle of June.

Note:

We ask the public to respect the workers and the closed road. Police will continue to monitor the site to ensure safe working conditions and to ensure the road is only being used by those who live or work on this road. Local traffic should stay especially mindful next week when multiple crews are expected to be on site.
