- Traffic control signs were set up in preparation for next week’s full closure along with advance warning message signs
Upcoming Work Planned for Next Few Weeks:
- Weather permitting, the road will be fully closed starting at 7AM on Monday, July 6, 2026. It will remain closed until July 15, 2026.
- Once the road is closed, all homes and businesses will have access, but only from one side of the tunnel construction site.
- Construction will continue with full road removal, and then sections of the tunnel will be installed across the road to over half of the road.
- Once enough of the tunnel is installed, backfilling will take place and the west half of the road will be reconstructed and the reopened with two lanes of traffic on or before July 15, 2026.
- Then, private utilities on the east side will be relocated to accommodate the tunnel construction on the east side.
