Progress Report:
Northland Drive will be closed between Belding Road and West River Drive starting on Friday, September 25. The closure is expected to last until the morning of Monday, October 5.
Why does this matter for the Belding Road Sewer Replacement project? Because the detour for the Northland Drive closure will be Cannonsburg Road to Myers Lake Avenue to Belding Road. More information on the Northland pedestrian crossing project can be found here: https://www.preinnewhof.com/construction-projects/northland-pedestrian-crossing/
In anticipation of heavier traffic volumes through the work zone next week, Dean’s Excavating will take a break from installing new sanitary sewer. Dean’s plans to install sewer through Thursday this week and then remove the lane shift on Friday so that only the eastbound shoulder is closed. Base course paving is also scheduled for Thursday this week between Egypt Valley Avenue and Silver Maple Lane. The final top course of asphalt won’t be placed until the end of the project so that it can be placed all at one time.
Next week, Dean’s will work on some sewer testing and project clean up under the shoulder closure.
Upcoming Work:
After the Northland Drive closure is completed, Dean’s will put the lane shift back along Belding Road and close Myers Lake Avenue so that the new sewer can be installed across the intersection. Dean’s anticipates about three weeks of work remain after the Northland Drive closure. The project is scheduled to wrap up before the end of October.
