Sampling Instructions
If you prefer to collect your samples yourself, please follow these instructions according to the sample type:
- Coliform Bacteria, Nitrates/Nitrites, Partial Chemistry, or Metals Test
- Lead Test
- PFAS Test
- VOC Test
- HAA5/THM Test
Bottles and printed sample collection instructions are available at our Laboratory in Grand Rapids.
Please drop off samples at our Grand Rapids Laboratory between:
8:00 AM – 4:30 PM Monday–Thursday
8:00 AM – 3:00 PM Friday
Holiday hours may vary.
To drop off samples at our Holland or Muskegon Locations, please call our Lab to coordinate this service.
We can collect and pickup your samples for an additional fee. Call us to set up sampling services or order a self-sampling kit: (616) 364–7600.
After testing, we’ll send your results in your requested format and help you interpret them and compare them to Safe Drinking Water Standards.
Our standard turnaround time is five business days, but high-priority jobs can be done sooner if arranged.

Drinking Water Testing for PFAS:
- Following EPA 537.1 Methodology for Drinking Water
- $350 per sample, including field blank*
- 10-business-day turnaround; Expedited turn-around time available for a fee.
- Optional Sampling Service: $2 per mile round trip ($50 minimum)
- Capacity to test for 18 PFAS compounds
Wastewater Testing for PFAS:
- Following EPA 537 (modified) Methodology
- $450 per sample, including field blank*
- 10-business-day turnaround; Expedited turn-around time available for a fee.
- Optional Sampling Service: $100 per man hour (two people required)
- Capacity to test for 28 PFAS compounds
* A field blank is a sample of analyte-free media collected in the same type of container used for the analytical test.
