Swanson Pickle Lift Station and Force Main
Construct a force main and lift station to convey flow from Swanson Pickle Company to the Southeast Regional Force Main.

Access/Traffic: Local traffic will be maintained during pipeline construction. There may be times when your driveway is inaccessible because pipeline construction is occurring in front of your house or driveway restoration is taking place. The contractor will work with you ahead of time and will make special access arrangements with you if needed. Shoulder closure of Heights Ravenna Road is anticipated during pipeline construction.

Mail: Mailboxes that interfere with pipeline construction will be temporarily relocated so that mail service can be maintained during construction. If your mailbox needs to be temporarily relocated, the contactor will inform you of where it has been moved to and when they anticipate it will be returned to its original location.

Garbage Pickup: The contractor will work with you and your waste hauler to maintain service throughout construction. If pipeline construction interferes with your waste hauler’s ability to pick up your garbage, the contractor will temporarily move your garbage bins to a central location and return them to the end of your driveway following trash pickup.

**Heights Ravenna Rd between Moorland Rd and Ravenna Rd is closed. Heights Ravenna Rd will be reopened to traffic by Saturday, July 12***

Work completed/in progress:

  • Force main installed to Swanson Pickle.
  • Eastern Swanson Pickle driveway poured.

Anticipated work activities for the coming week:

  • Install maintenance structures along force main.
  • Prepare for second Swanson Pickle driveway pour.
  • Begin restoration efforts.

June 30, 2025

**Heights Ravenna Rd between Moorland Rd and Ravenna Rd is closed. This closure will last several months as force main construction continues.***

Work completed/in progress:

  • Continued force main installation through Swanson Pickle property.

Anticipated work activities for the coming week:

  • Complete force main installation at east end.
  • Pour east Swanson Pickle driveway.

June 23, 2025

**Heights Ravenna Rd between Moorland Rd and Ravenna Rd is closed. This closure will last several months as force main construction continues.***

Work completed/in progress:

  • Continued force main installation east of Bosset Road.

Anticipated work activities for the coming week:

  • Complete force main pipe installation.
  • Begin construction of force main appurtenances.

June 16, 2025

**Heights Ravenna Rd between Moorland Rd and Ravenna Rd is closed. This closure will last several months as force main construction continues.***

 

Work completed/in progress:

  • Installed force main east of Bosset Road.

Anticipated work activities for the coming week:

  • Continue laying force main eastward toward Swanson Pickle.

**Heights Ravenna Rd between Moorland Rd and Ravenna Rd is closed. This closure will last several months as force main construction continues.***

Work completed/in progress:

  • Fused approximately 6,000 ft of force main.
  • Installed approximately 5,700 ft of force main on south side of Heights Ravenna Rd.

Anticipated work activities for the coming week:

  • Install temporary gravel for driveways.
  • Re-grade ditch line.
  • Replace drive culverts.

Work completed/in progress:

  • Prepared south side of Heights Ravenna Rd for force main construction.
  • Fused approximately 1,800 ft of force main.
  • Installed approximately 950 ft of force main on south side of Heights Ravenna Rd.

Anticipated work activities for the coming week:

  • Continue fusing and installing force main on south side of Heights Ravenna Rd.
August 2, 2024
  • Swanson Pickle Lift Station & Force Main project has been awarded to Jackson-Merkey Contractors of Muskegon, Michigan
  • Jackson-Merkey Contractors tentatively plans to begin construction of the pipeline along Heights Ravenna Road in the summer of 2025
  • Construction of the lift station at Swanson Pickle Company has not yet been scheduled
