City of Wyoming - Water Transmission Main No. 3

• Van Buren Street from Butternut to 160^th Avenue is closed.
• K&R continued pipe laying in Van Buren Street and is progressing west to east. Pipe laying will continue next week.
• Van Buren Street from US-31 to 128^th Avenue is closed.
• K&R began pipe laying this week, progressing west to east. Pipe laying will continue next week.
• Van Buren Street from 104^th Avenue to 96^th Avenue is closed.
• Ric-Man began laying pipe in Van Buren Street today. They will be receiving valve chambers and will continue with transmission main and valve chamber placement in Van Buren Street.
• New Holland Street from 104^th Avenue to 96^th Avenue was closed this week and will remain closed through the winter. The closed road section will be cleared and maintained for local, non-thru traffic during winter weather.
• New Holland Street was pulverized within the closed length and pipe deliveries began. 42″ gate valves and 60″ butterfly valves were delivered to the site.
• Next week at the DWP, OAK will continue excavation for the surge tank building foundation.

• Pipe and equipment deliveries began last week. K&R is scheduled to begin pipe laying this week, progressing west to east.
• Van Buren Street from 104^th Avenue to 96^th Avenue was closed today.
• Ric-Man is approaching Van Buren Street with pipe laying and will begin laying in the road soon.
• New Holland Street from 104^th Avenue to 96^th Avenue is scheduled to close 11/12 and will remain closed through the winter. The closed road section will be cleared and maintained for local, non-thru traffic during winter weather.
• Road pulverization and pipe and equipment deliveries along the closed length of New Holland Street will begin soon.
• Excavation began at the Drinking Water Plant for the surge tank building foundation.

Last week: 

• Ric-Man resumed pipe laying between Barry Street and Van Buren Street.
• Tree clearing for surge suppression improvements continued at the Wyoming Drinking Water Plant.

Coming up:

• K&R is planning to mobilize a second crew the week of November 3. The second crew will begin work east of US-31 on Van Buren Street. Pipe laying is scheduled to begin the week of November 10.

Closures: 

• Van Buren Street from Butternut to 160^th Avenue remains closed. K&R is planning to re-mobilize and resume pipe laying within this area the week of November 3.
• New Holland Street between 96^th Avenue and 104^th Avenue is tentatively scheduled to close on November 3 for the foreseeable future. The detour will be via Quincy Street.
• Van Buren Street from US-31 to 128^th Avenue is scheduled to close on November 3. The detour will be via New Holland Street.

Ric-Man has temporarily stopped pipe laying and is beginning initial restoration efforts at the southern end of the project. Pipe laying is anticipated to resume near the end of October. In the meantime, Ric-Man will continue initial restoration efforts, and begin installing pipe appurtenances (valves, air valves, hydrants) and completing work within the pipe interior.

Van Buren Street from Butternut to 160^th Avenue remains closed. Pipe from Butternut to 160^th Avenue has been delivered and staged along Van Buren Street.

K&R’s pipe laying has been delayed to the start of November.

The contractor, Ric-Man, has installed pipe between New Holland Street and Barry Street and will keep laying pipe northwards, up to to Van Buren Street.

Van Buren Street between Butternut and 160^th Avenue remains closed. See detour map below, under Traffic Impacts!

Some pipe has been delivered and laid out, ready for installation, along Van Buren Street with more to come in the next several weeks.

Contractor K&R’s pipe laying has been delayed to the start of November.

• The City held another open house on August 19 for residents near the Drinking Water Plant. A copy of the PowerPoint presentation is linked here.
• Ric-Man has installed most of the 42″ pipe south of New Holland Street and is beginning pipe laying north of New Holland Street.
• K&R closed Van Buren Street from Butternut to 164^th Avenue to begin mobilizing equipment. K&R will begin road demolition and pipe staging next week within the road closure area.
• K&R will begin installation of their groundwater dewatering system near the end of next week.
• K&R is planning to begin pipe installation the week of September 15.

• Ric-Man will mobilize the rest of their equipment and crew to the site.
• Pipeline installation will begin this week south of New Holland Street progressing north.

🚧 We are very close to kicking off pipeline installation near 96th Avenue (south of New Holland Street)!

Over the past week, the crew from Ric Man Construction has been busy getting the site prepped — moving topsoil, stockpiling sand, and bringing in equipment. The first loads of 42-inch and 48-inch pipe arrived last week, and about a mile of pipe is now staged along the easement, ready to go! 👷‍♂️🚜
